The Benefits of Honey
Where does it come from?
Honey is produced naturally by worker honey bees gathering sugar-rich flower nectar. The nectar is converted to honey through a regurgitation and evaporation process, which is a partial digestion, then stored in the hive’s honeycombs as long-term food storage. Beekeepers cut off the wax caps from honeycombs to harvest the honey. The honey and beeswax are separated (usually in a centrifuge), and the honey is then passed through a screen to remove any impurities. Honey’s color, fragrance, and properties vary by nectar source.

Why do we use it?
Honey is a super ingredient that works as a humectant to hydrate and condition skin. It has soothing and cleansing properties, and is often used in age-defying products. It also helps to absorb impurities. Honey is loaded with naturally occurring nutrients like sugars, enzymes, proteins, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and probiotics.
